Re: What type of routers and switches in 7x?
The latest release is A7.13. This release, when new, uses HP ProCurve 3800 for the Core LAN Switches and HP ProCurve 2620 for site switches. The Motorola S6000 is still used for Gateway Routers and Core Routers. The Motorola GGM 8000 is used for site gateways. All the OP asked was about switches and...

Re: Astro 25 channel ID
Hello, Within the system settings of the P25 system is defined the bandplan. The specific slots/elements are defined by number. The band plan elements must match exactly for each element in both the system and subscriber equipment. The system tells the radio which band plan element is used for every...

Re: Announcement Talkgroups
Announcement talkgroups (ATG) also known as "Multigroup" talkgroups are created, configured and managed at the system level of a Motorola Trunked Radio System. The Multigroup Talkgroup is created in the system and specific talkgroup IDs are added to the Multigroup as associated members. In...

Re: Revisiting the Saber SI topic....
I don't believe your gonna get any Saber SI's from San Diego. They've all been replaced with XTS2500 & XTS5000 radios by Nextel for rebanding and have been sent to the crusher.
Sorry!

Re: Quantar Question as backup
The SAM board will only turn on/off "repeat" when the Quantar is programmed as a Repeater. It will not work if programmed as a BASE. You can however, install an external DTMF decoder or use some other method to get a closure on the 50 pin connector between pins 7 (Ground) & 16 (In-Cabi...

Re: Aeroflex (IFR) Questions
Wowbagger, I've been using the Autotest II software for XTS5000 today and I find it a great application and product. My 3920 is getting really happy these days. I wonder if there are any scripts that have been written or can be developed to have Autotest II also align the analog portion of the radio...

Re: Motorola Astro 25 Rel. 7.2 LAN SWITCH FAILURE
Try using the Router Manager application in the PRNM Suite to connect to LAN Switch 2 and change the startup directory from Primary to Secondary and reboot the switch. If this solves the problem you probably have a corrupted boot.ppc or boot.cfg file in the primary directory. If you are unable to co...

Re: Anyone using an SR785 signal analyzer for simulcast?
I have successfully used the Stanford labs SR785 Dynamic Signal Analyzer for adjusting the Modulation Compensation in an Analog Simulcast environment. I have an optimization setup file for the SR785 I could get to you that you could put on a floppy disk and load onto your analyzer that will set it u...

Re: V.24 wireless????
A quick note of caution. The V.24 signal going to and from the Quantar is a synchronous data signal. Unless you have a data circuit end to end, you are not going to get your connectivity through the PTP links and ADTRAN E & M cards. You need something like a Sub-rate unit or Data type card not E...

Re: Few questions about SmartZone from newbie
In a SmartZone (SZ) system there are one or more sites. These sites make up a Zone. Depending on the release version of the system there can be a maximum of seven (7) Zones. A site can be made up of a single physical location that has RF channels, or a simulcast site that has a number of physical lo...

Re: Rebanding suppport for XTS3000 w/swapped RF deck
You write about an XTS300R in the R & S split. These are UHF band units. Rebanding only applies to 800 MHz radios. As I see it, you don't need any refresh software at all since the radio will not be rebanded.

Re: Codenames of Motorola Radios
The Syntor X radio platform with the Systems 90 S control head was known as the Greyhound. The Syntor X9000 series was a combination of the Greyhound radio using the Longhorn data bus structure.

Re: MSF 5000 - Hearclear Disable?
Chris, Looking at a manual on a 900 MHz MSF5000 Station Control Board I show a few Berg jumpers that need to be moved. JU18 needs to be put into the "B" position to bypass the flultter Attenuator. JU16 needs to be in the "A" position to bypass the Expander. These two jumpers are ...

Re: Anyone with in-depth knowledge of PRE-DIGITAL LAPD Radio????
Chris, The LAPD voters used just before cut to ASTRO were a mixture of GE Voters and SpectraTaccomparators which can both use 1950 Hz Status tone. During the cut from analog to ASTRO a Raven switch was used to allow Analog audio to be patched to ASTRO and to the City dispatch consoles. It also allow...

Re: ID Motorola base station
The model number is probably C55 WNB0107A. This is an old Gemini 800 MHz Data station. It's not worth very much and can't be used for too much other than old MDC4800 data protocol.
I hope that helps.
