look on the bottom of the cradle, the part# for the wall-wart is right there.... my local shop ordered one in for me, at 34.00 !!! I' d look somewhere else, and/or if you have a variable bench supply, I'd use that instead.

so a question regarding ENCODE of 2-tone... I had an Icom a while back, was the 1st radio I ever saw that did ENcode. But... you could only program ONE tone (set of tones) for it to transmit. Anyone know how many the 420 will do? I am ITM for a new radio as we speak and this would fit my bill nicely...

I believe you can program those buttons to access autodial menu, and then another would scroll between your stored numbers. I'll hafta check the software again to be a hunnerd percent sure, but I believe that's the way it works. No "one-touch" speed-dial If I understand you correctly.... Tom

I believe some of the base-chargers for them have the relay outs. I know for a fact the Minitor II's on up do. Check out ebay, and pm the sellers, ask about funky plugs on the back of them. You might get what you need for a buck or 2 !

I've got a VX800 (your big brother...) I have had troubles using the Vertex software on newer/faster computers, and in fact, CE-31 (the programmer for the 800) even has a warning that comes up when you run the program about computer speed.

I would bet you could get as much as 450 as a single-head system, and then couple hunnerd more for the 2nd head, remote head cable, mic, speaker, etc.

I like parting stuff out, find it typically nets me more. Of course that's on greedbay; Batlabbers get better pricing, hehe
