I stuck mine in the factory armrest/console in my 02 exploder and couldn't be happier with it. 75 watts with the VHF public safety band TX modification.. you cant beat it. Nice install, I would loose the PI sticker though. Im more for the what the hell is that ?...

yea pretty much betting the battery is crap. Especially with the new load on it from the lighting. I'll test the amp output and notify the customer of the findings. This coupled with the fact he told me that a month before the install he went to vacuum his truck and in the five mins it took he found...

Fuse tap from drivers side fuse box, 20A radio/ignition fuse. All components are pulling very little through the sense wires, as they all have built in relays these days. I take a look at it tomorrow, I believe the problem is dirty battery terminals, as well as the fact that it is old. I'll clean an...

2004 Blazer
Just did a 04 blazer, and customer is reporting some issues and I'm looking for some insight here. Installed 4 HAW's, 4 TIR3's in grill, 2 TIR3's in rear tint, a Slimlighter above rear view mirror, and a siren. Power directly from battery, with a fuse tap for ign/acc control. He says his overhead ou...

trouble prog. CDM 1250 buttons
I just plugged a few freq's into a new CDM 1250, and when it reset it displayed the first channel i put in. When I went to press up or down the radio gives that error beep. Repeater and sidetone ?
Is there a programming option that will offer a sidetone of some sort that will signify when a HT-750 or 1250 is within range to a repeater when keying up? I saw this used with a Kenwood system and wondered if Motorola had the option too. The portable would beep when you keyed up until it successful...

how many switches would i have to use if i wanted all tones? Well... if you wanted to wire all the tones to the horn ring you would need to isolate each tone going into the horn ring by using a multiple position switch or use a switch for each tone. One downside of multiple switches is that you'd w...

I did it by taking the horn 12-volt+ and putting it on the desired tone input in the siren (airhorn, wail, hyper). The color and location in the steering column of the horn wire is always different in every vehicle, so I usually locate the wire coming into the horn itself in the grill or bumper, dis...

In flat mode, it'll transparently repeat whatever comes in, although the level will be somewhat lower. An incoming PL deviation of 750Hz will come out at approx 400-500Hz. 1225 Radius Repeater Question
I have a radius 1225 repeater, and Im wondering if it is possible to have the unit repeat my frequency without a PL. The idea is to have 2 sets of users with different PL's able to access this repeater without hearing eachother. Obviously I know that only one party can TX at a time. Anyone know if t...

That's right, if you haven't already heard Dodge will be making a 2006 year Dodge Magnum Police Package, that has sparked up interest in many cities PD's already. NYPD announced they will be joining this crowd, I guess they had enough of those Impala's. Check it out!

Their not any harder to install than domestic cars would be, but they require a ground-side switching wig-wag module. These can be bought from Galls and others. They also provide a database of cars that require this type of module, so make sure you need it first, because not all Japaneese cars need ...
