I'll let everyone in on a little secret.. Unlike the APX7000XE which uses a different housing shell then the standard APX7000, the APX6000 & APX6000XE use the same housing shell. The top control of the APX6000XE drops down a little on the sides to fill in the gap. So you can use the standard col...

I believe it's a CPS setting to disable the radio PTT when a mic or accessory is attached. All of my APX's TX from the side PTT no matter what accessory is attached.

Judging by all of your APX FPP questions in the last few days, it doesn't sound like you have the CPS.. I would advise that you buy the CPS for the radio and read through the tutorials & help menus. While you can FPP the radio, there is a lot that you need the CPS for to initially set up.

Start by checking the RF switch plunger on the side connector. When a PSM is attached, there is a pin that pushes the plunger in, transferring RF to the mic.. Maybe yours is stuck in, which does happen at times.. I would open the radio up, and test the switch to verify operation..

Yup, you got it.. It's mainly the Q53 causing the conflict. Q52 plays nice with trunking in the radio, but Moto changed things up after R09, that dropped FPP from the menu items if you didn't have Q53 with it. So it basically turned into a double edged sword..
