Re: HT1250 distorted sidetone
I will try the magnet trick as soon as I get my paws back on the radio. Can anyone fill me in on how to take it apart? I assume the flex cable is fragile?

HT1250 distorted sidetone
A friend of mine picked up a UHF (403-470 split) HT1250 on fleaBay and brought it over to program. After a few hours of building the ultimate codeplug and programming the radio I was disappointed to find out that their is a problem. The sidetone that sounds for a Pre-PTT MDC ID sounds "off"...

Radios for a Type I trunking
Out of curiosity what radios (prefer radios produced after the year 2000) are capable of working on a 800 Type I trunking system? Specifically, can any of the XTS series radios do this? I understand flashing has a lot to do with this but I am wondering if Motorola even markets/supports such old syst...

Re: CDM1550 Low Band "EEPRM CS ERROR"
To do this "trick" does the radio that I read have to be identical (band, model, etc) to the broken radio? If the model doesnt matter I have a UHF CDM1550 right next to broken Low band that I could use for the tricking otherwise I am up for a challenge (finding another low band 1550). Than...

CDM1550 Low Band "EEPRM CS ERROR"
I purchased a used low band CDM1550 last week. The first thing I did was download the codeplug and save it. I then programmed all my stuff in and the radio worked like a champ. I noticed I screwed up a PL tone in programming so I adjust it and attempted to program the radio and thats when I got the ...

Twin / Dual MDC1200 PTT ID burst
I recently noticed that one of our paramedics has two MDC1200 data bursts upon key up (pre PTT ID). It's definetly two distinct and seperate MDC bursts. I can tell you they are using CDM1250 VHF mobiles. I have not had a chance to park my XTS5K on a channel and see if I can decode the transmitted ID...

Ok, I will check that out when I get up to the site next time. We are using tone remote keying. It bothers me if its the cap because the last thing we need is a repeater staying keyed.

Repeater Hang Time Problem
We currently have a VHF MSR2000 two site voted repeater in operation. There is one receiver at the other end of town and naturally one at the repeater site. We use phone lines for communication between the two sites. The comparator is located at the repeater site as well which I dont agree with but ...

Thats a real bummer.... how do you forget something like that? I understand that MDC on a base setup is unusual but in this case it would be helpful. MC2500 Console
Does anyone know how to get the MC2500 console to sound a sidetone when transmitting? I need to set a sizeable sidetone delay due to our repeater system being slow. I have set MDC on Pre-PTT but there is no side tone.
Any help appreciated.

Does this (the priority assigning) scenario only work if the repeater is turned on at the scene (sending out the tone)? Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problems we are with our Minitor IV pagers. We have low band 42-50 MHz 2ch pagers that we received in early 2004. I misunderstood you. No there is no QCII or any other type of two-tone sequential paging. There might be some MDC that sneaks in every now and then. The reason for this is the agency on this VHF channel is using a Motorola repeater and HT's but Midland mobiles which dont have the reverse burst. Of c...

Nextel BDA repeater
My buddy is putting a nextel repeater in his fire station so they can have service inside their building. His question to me was where to put the actual repeater unit. They have a long run I think about 200'. Should it be places closer to the outside antenna or the inside antenna?

I know Batlabs lists the DIN pinouts for the Minitor II series charger/amps but I have Minitor III/IV and the DIN connector is a 5 pin instead of what Batlabs has listed.
Does anyone have the correct pinouts for a 5 DIN connector?

I have a UHF M3 with SV that I just programmed today. We are dispatched on a SIMPLEX channel so there is no repeater "tail." The squelch is set to REVERT. The SV option works fine but when we are paged my pager only records a quick burst of static or somtimes nothing but the end of message...
