Re: Alpha paging and the Volunteer Fire/EMS service
We use the alpha page as a back up to the voice and so you don't have to ask for a repeat of the address or cross street, however you are a the mercy of the commercial carrier (verizon, nextel, sprint etc.) and many times the text message is delayed any you may not receive the message until after th...

GR300 Duplexer Question
Looking for the expert on this one. Normal Tx and Rx frequency separation would either be 3 or 5 Mhz. The question is: Can the normal 3 cavity duplexer for a GR300 be tuned for about a 2 1/2 Mhz separation in frequencys?? Ex: Rx - 460.5125 Tx - 462.9375 Obvoiusly my other option if this doesn't work...

Need Help radio Identification
I have a mobile radio that looks like a maxtrac (square buttons) but the sticker on the front says Motorola Radius.
This radio won't interact with the Maxtrac or GM300 software.
Anyone know why?? Is this another model radio?

HT750 Battery problems
Anyone know of a quick fix for an HT750 that keeps turning on and off when you squease the radio or shake the battery?? I cleaned the contacts both on the radio and on the battery. I even swapped out the battery and used another one. I can't figure out why it keeps turning off and on.

Adjusting Sensitivity on the CDM1250
I have two CDM1250 Lowband programmed with 5 frequencies each and all the freqs are set to carrier. One of the radios is constantly locking up with static almost all the time. The other CDM, which is programmed with the same freqs does not have this problem. Is there an adjustment for sensitivity???...

The HT1250 has an inherrant problem with the MDC decode ID on certain frequencies. I had the same problem, and after many hours of hair pulling cursing, I ended up just turning it off. There were a few others on this discussion board that had it happen to them as well. Apparently it's a firmware pro...

It's a little difficult to explain in writing, but I will try. For each frequency or (personality), you click on the scan tab, and choose which scan list you would like (scan 1, scan 2, etc.). Depending on which one you choose for this frequency is what dictates which scan list the radio goes into w...

Has anyone tried using a computer UPS as a battery backup for GR300 repeaters? I was looking for a cheap way to backup 2 GR300's for between 30 and 60 minutes.

I have a 36 - 42 Mhz Maxtrac that I used the "Shift" function to program 46.32 into. Is this too far out of the bandwith for the radio to work. I am using it as a "Receive Only" radio, but am not picking up anything. Does anyone know.....Am I missing something? Perhaps a re-align...
