I was looking and all it seams you can assign the DEK buttons to are the siren controls, status, and message controls, I couldn't assign buttons that would usually be on the control head such as Site, Lock, delete, etc... to the DEK.

I had a similar problem, when the strobe pack was turned on it would reset the spectra, we had to install a Motorola power line filter which solved the problem, it also could be a dieing battery or too much power draw.

Actually, Electrosonic only has the Bussman fuse line, not their circuit breakers. I checked already... Ps. Conundrum, FWIW, the list pricing on the single unit displays (as used by batdude, XMO, et all) is $95. Using this as a yardstick I'm guessing that the cost on the upgrade unit will be about $100, but that's pure speculation as well and it could be vastly different. Damn I hate MOL.... its show...

I can see end users buying the display add-on IF the cost was very low (ie: Under $20.00). I can guarantee that the price will probably be around the same price as actual charger, the list for the display modules alone is somewhere around $120, plus add on the R&D time plus the extra components...

Removing a window mount antenna

Does anyone have tips on removing a window mounted antenna? I'm probably just going to take a heat gun to it and a razor blade, but on the inside its over window mounted antenna/defrost wires and I don't want to cut them, any tips would be great.

The VRS-EP is crystal controlled. You configure it VIA RSS or CPS for the Astro Spectra Via the codeplug for the astro spectra the VRS will be hooked up to.

On the radio, check to what you have encryption on/off set to, usually it would be the rotary switch below the channel knob, and make sure its set to O instead of Ø, if it beeps when you try to transmit, it would be because encryption is turned on and no keys are in the radio so it "bonks"...

The 3000R Cases are made for pirates... but seriously, from what I've seen the 3000 and 3000R cases are interchangeable, the 3000R is the ruggedized case, and the 3000 is the regular case.

I've used the Mr. Clean Magic Erase auto sponges on some radios and they have cleaned up nicely, one had some white marks on it from being rubbed up against many items and it took them off.

From my knowledge the W7 is just the W5 with a different front plastic and more buttons (to give access to the full DTMF number pad), the circuitry is from what I can recall identical.
