I purchased my Atmel from user Mars on P25.ca but you should be able to find them online also. I have a similar issue with my Quantar, it will randomly reset while in use and it sends out 3 beeps over the air when it came back up. I have replaced the Xicor and the station is still doing the reset occasionally, so I am going to replace the power supply next.

Re: Newbe looking for a little help with older handhelds.
All of the Motorola radios listed are programmable to use all of the channels that they support. Each model radio is programmed with a computer, it's own specific software and cable(with the exception of the GP300/P110, IIRC they use the same cable/RSS)and they normally would require a RIB unless yo...

Re: XPR5550 vs XPR2500 - what's the point of the XPR5550?
Off the top of my head I know the 5550 will do 1000 channels and the 2500 will only do 128 and the 5550 supports Connect Plus trunking and I don't think that the 2500 will. Like the XTLs it was probably meant for users that don't need all the fancy features.

CDR700 Controller Part Identification
I have a project at work in which I need to install a HLN3333B RICK in a CDR700, the RICK of course is too small and the CDR service manual lists a controller with part # of HLN3948 which it says is a basic controller identical to the RICK. The manual also says that the HLN3948 comes with a tray to ...

That mic is made for the Jedi series radios, it has extra pin on the connector that depresses the antenna switch on the radio, so it will not fit on the XTS series properly.

You might look for an MTS2000 Model I 48 channel with top display, I see those going to between $75 and $100, sometimes cheaper. You probably won't find an FPP(frequency entry from keypad) capable radio close to that price range unless you go with a JT1000 which is limited to 16 channels. So you'll ...
