Re: BER test failure

My guys like and use that feature. And with the mess that is CPS R20, along with this problem in the firmware, I am being cautious about sending someone into a burning building with a flaky radio. So far everything labelled R20 has been horrible. Someone should be fired over this release.

Radio Management wants

1. Allow the ability to end a programming job from the Job View instead having to cancel every radio individually.
2. Allow the creation of folders in the Template View so I don't have to sort thru Fire to find Police code plugs.
3. FIX CPS R20.00.03

BER test failure

Recently received a batch of APX6000XE in October. Started running then thru the auto-test on a Aeroflex 3920 and they passed without a hitch. After programming several and running them thru auto-test, they all failed the BER test. The machine just would not run the tests, timed out trying. After mu...

Audio playback- Instant Recall

With R17.01 firmware update Motorola gave the APX the ability to record and playback up to 30 seconds of audio. Nice, but the way it's configured it is practically useless to my officers in the field. To use the feature, an officer has to un-holster the radio, scroll to RCNT, SELect the desired conv...

I agree with you. I'd rather have the FF 25 feet away know I'm in trouble than a dispatcher miles away that will have to relay that info to the on-scene captain who then needs to relay that to his FFs. Too much time is wasted getting info to the people who will provide rescue. We are programming the...

Tactical vs. Non-tactical Emergency

What is your take on the merits of each? We currently use non-tact but after running into a problem with dispatch not having the emergency talk group pulled up on the console, I am thinking of changing over to tactical on normal operating talk groups and leaving non-tactical on other talk groups. At...

The sets of RG45 jacks on the back are for Motorola radio-specfic cables to the consolette. Radios aer plugged into the rgu. The desksets and the rgu are wired to a switch, the radios are addressed via the rgu ip address. You can connect a deskset directly to an APX consolette without a rgu. I am no...

I had to inhibit a XTS2500 radio a month ago. A couple of days ago I laid my hands on the radio and went to cancel the inhibit. With the APX7000 you do not need a RGU the APX will work directly on the network. Also the audio tuning in 2.0 is a lot easier! Agree that the audio seems easier in R2. Re: MCD5000 VOIP remote control

Two things I've found out recently: 1) the cable shipped with the XTL5000 consolette causes the radio to key via SB9000 and by hardline. Somehow this causes audio distortion in the radio. The fix is in software version R2 where you can choose either method of keying. 2) The audio board in the XTL500...
