Maxtrac MDC ID

Post by nyclt422 »

Has anyone ever heard of a Maxtrac decoding MDC ?. A friend of mine has a VHF maxtrac that he claims used to flash the radio id it was recieving in 2 2 digt displays. Currently when we monitor our local ambulance dispatch frequency the radio flashes 00 then 00 when certain units transmit.

I have two Maxtracs that decode MDC-1200. One VHF and one UHF. Been a while since I set it up and I don't have the RSS nearby though.

But see http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=42336

you can alias their ID to a 2 digit ID in the call list.

when you recieve their ID, it will flash their 2 digit alias., poor mans caller ID i guess

I believe the radius product of the Maxtrac (GM300 possibly) will straight decode MDC1200. The maxtrac requires an alias list to be set up and is only 2 digits.
