xts5000 and COMMANDER REMOTE SPEAKER MICROPHONE

Post by ltfpfd »

My chief has this radio and if he puts the radio on channel 1 and the mic on channel 2 it goes to channel but whwn the radio is off and out on it goes back to what ever the radio is on. Also whe he scans it default back to channel one even after he has the knob turned to something else. how do you fix this problem.

What radios do you own?: APX

Well, there is a setting in the CPS to disable the radio controls when a remote mic is attached. That would clear up your first problem, because what ever channel the mic is on, thats what channel you would operate on no matter what channel the radio is on. If that field in the CPS is not set, the radio will default to what ever channel the radio is on, not the mic upon power up.

The second problem you are having with the scan, sounds like you have that radio set up for a "fixed" priority channel, ie chan 1. You need to change that in the scan list under priority assignment. You need to set priority one to follow the channel selector, ie selected channel. Then what ever channel you select will be your priority. Hope that helps.
