Motorola Minitor 4

I have a Minitor 4 without SV. One of our members has a Minitor 5. His 5 will talk to him when he changes the position of the channel/mode selector. It tells him what mode is selected. Is there anyway that a 4 will do this? If so what is it called so that I will know what to tell the programmer to enable

No, a Minitor 4 will not talk to you.

I had that feature enabled for about a week on my M5. It's about as useless as modat.

Does the Min Vs have to have that enabled through RSS or is there another way to enable it?

Yepper, you need to set it in the programming software.

I too had it on for about a week before I disabled it.

I think the voice operation on the Minitor 5 pager can be a little annoying thats what my friend told me. I only have the Minitor 4. My friend has one for his fire company he disabled the voice operation on it.
