Help: SS2000 smartsiren - died!

Post by Jay G. »

Ok, here's what happened. Friend of mine has a Smartsiren in his car. He broke off the tab which holds the RJ11 plug in, so he cut it off and crimped on a new one. In doing this, he shorted it out, and now nothing works.. I tested his car with my brain, and he did blow the brain, not the keypad. Is there a fuse or something in the brain which may have blown? HELP!!!

thanks!

Look for a pico fuse ( looks like an all green resistor ) In the middle of the lowest board in the smartsiren unit. I don't remember the exact rating, but it should be apparent when you find it.

Good luck

Also the keypad is the brain of a smart siren.
