Hi i am looking at purchasing a APX7000XE VHF UHFR1 and this is the model number on it: H49TGD9PW1AN. I am new to the APX line of radios and i have been searching around but everything that comes up under that model number is a non XE radio and UHF/800 band . Is there any sites or searches that i can use to verify the proper model number.
So with the APX7000 or XE the model # is the same regardless of the band splits. You'll need the FlashCode of the radio, the TANAPA, or the FCC ID(s) to know what the band split of the radio are.
The Model # does, however, indicate whether it's a XE or Non-XE
Sorry i just noticed that i had put the wrong model number in the original post. The model number is H97TGD9PW1AN which as stated says its a non XE model. This is the listing here. Has anyone had any dealing with this seller ?
The seller has been forthcoming on the fact that the tag matches the radio internal info and normally I wouldn't require any photos. Even though the seller states "no returns", the ebay Money Back Guarantee always sides with the buyer.... if you don't get what was stated in the listing, you get your money back. Full stop.
However, if what the seller states is true, then this radio was upgraded from an APX7000 M3.5 to an APX7000XE M3.5 and that introduces a whole new level of gotchas to look out for depending on who did that hardware upgrade to install the XE control top. A bona-fide XE should have H49 as the model number on the tag. So yes, ask for clear legible photos of the tag to ensure its a factory tag and not a forgery.
And as com501 stated, ask for a screen grab of the ENTIRE expanded "Radio Information" screen in CPS.
Ok thanks for the info guys. I tried multiple times to talk to the seller and no response. I ended up buying one from Rick tompson in a private sale. I've read a ton of great things about Rick so had no worries about the radio having no tags.
