Hello. I am looking to purchase a speaker Mic for my APX4000. Doing research I have found some speaker mics that work with all APX portables and some specific to the 4000 series. Is this information accurate? Can someone please guide me in the right direction for information? I am looking for a mic for fire service duty. Bigger and more durable. Thank you! Henry

It shows the XP RSM is compatible, but that mic is also compatible with the APX6000XE and APX7000XE radios which are built for fire duty. While the XP RSM is submersible and has the same controls as the XE RSM, the XE RSM is more glove-friendly for fire duty.

XE RSM's are cheap these days.... you can even get Gen3 models for around $150 tops.
