XTS-2500 & XTS-5000

Hello!!!

I was curious to see if Motorola made a XTS-2500 or XTS-5000 that would work on a trunking system in the Ultra Uhf frequency band (470-512)

I was looking at maybe a trip to Hershey and Lancaster County PA in a couple of months.

Well in my search I saw they both have trunking radios systems but the operate in the frequency ranges of 473-504 Mhz.

My Uhf trunking XTS-5000 will only go up to 470 Mhz.

The only thing I have is my BCD396T and an old MT-1000 that will work on those bands

Just looking for some information

Any help would greatly be appreciated

Thanks

David

David,

Lancaster and Dauphin both operate the S split not the Q split. Lancaster is almost completely encrypted and I believe Dauphin is mostly encrypted. Idk how much mileage you'll get out of your scanner.

Best of luck with your trip to the mid-Atlantic.

Both I believe simulcast their fire dispatches on low band of that helps.

I am frequently in the area and I can confirm Lancaster is 100% encrypted for LE and even some fire departments. Dauphin has a lot of encryption as well but Dispatch is in the clear. Hershey Park is MotoTRBO trunking.

I can't comment on usage or encryption but you can easily edit PatPort.exe to modify it to allow out of band programming. Super easy:
