Help with Motorola RICK

Post by FDC_100 »

I purchased a basic RICK to use as part of a GR300 repeater. When I opened the RICK to look at the dip switches, I found a note that read "Modified for Syntor......removed VR2, VR4, and VR5. Looking at the wiring diagram these VR units are 7.5v diodes. In addition to removing these three diodes, there have been 2 jumpers installed on the Tx and Rx connectors.

My question to anyone who knows is: Will this modification affect the operation of my GR300 repeater? Based on the basic RICK manual, there is no information as to what these three diodes control. I just don't want to blow up my Tx or Rx radio. PLEASE HELP.
