Any Info? 2005 Ford F150 Install

Post by KuhnElectronics »

I have a Install scheduled for a 2005 Ford F150 Install for the beginning of next week. I need some information because I have never even seen one up close.

Will probably need:

Good place for ignition point
strobe mounting location in headlights, reverse lights, and tailights
Mounting locations for siren/switch panel
siren speaker mount location
firewall access points

and any thing else you can think of!

Thanks!

-Use the fusebox for access to ignition sources, radio etc. obviously use relays when neccesary.
-headlight housings are limited because of design of reflective housings in the new 150's. On an angle drill the 1" hole next to the blinkers in the same housing. This keeps the strobe light output concentrated, and away from the headlight beam so it doesn't get washed out.
-Switching panel locations are minimal also, I used the overhead compartment for custom switches. I used a run of 4 conductor strobe cable to feed the switches and output to lights.
-Siren switches I can't say I worked with in this truck, because I only went with my horn ring to the AirHorn function.
-If you have a "low-profile" siren-speaker like fedsigs or sho-me's it fits like a glove in the lower grill to the side of the front license plate.
-If you look under your drivers side by the gas and brake pedals, there is a nice size grommet that goes through the firewall above the gas pedal. This has no factory use, so is perfect for strobe, siren, radio cables...

There is another thread on this truck I did in this vehicle install forum with links to pictures and video of this truck. It has been locked though so there are no replies allowed. http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=40557

My fire chief just got a 2005 4-door F-150. We sent it out to a local installer for an "all LED" installation. Of course I couldn't do without wig-wags,taillight flashers, and fog light strobes...

I will hopefully post pics tomorrow. Its very sharp. Jotto Desk makes a console that fits in just above the am/fm radio on the top of the dash; fits perfectly.

Where are you getting this data from? I'm looking for wiring diagrams for my new 2005 F-350 Super Duty, mainly so I can add an alarm system (wired into the emergency lighting and siren... should make for a unique alarm response!) and a few other things. Can you get similar/more detailed info for other vehicles?
