The 5 keystroke press on power up works on the XTS5000. I did first thing after receiving it. What is really interesting is that since the radio is flashed for ASTRO trunking it has an IMEI number as well as the serial. Radio has 700 and 800 mhz test frequencies also.

It is the button just above the PTT switch.

AN IMEI?? as in GSM IMEI, forgive my ignorance to astro equipment.

IMEI number is a unique identifier used in cellular networks like GSM etc. for each subscriber unit. I suppose the 9600 baud systems use the IMEI in conjunction with radio ID's. This would serve to make it more difficult for someone to gain Xmit access by simply cloning a radio ID.
