Minitor 5 won't trip

Post by kdean7 »

Having an issue with a minitor 5 that wont trip. Anyone have any suggestsion? Here is what I've got:
General = User

channel F1= 154.430
2259.9 - 1232.7 - Standard - ON
2259.9 - 601.1 - Standard - ON
927.4 - 2163.4 - Music 6 - OFF
2463.0 - 2163.4 - Standard - ON

channel F2 = 154.355 - coding = STD

Model Options:
SV=dynamic
VM=Off
FA=Off
PSF1= (GREYED) 0.512
AD= STD
CR = Off
PA = OFf
P= Off
RF = Delayed N - 89.76
Squelch = 5

Function switches:
Wide - Selective Call F1 - Tone - uncheck on/off duty, unchecked push to listen
Wide - Selective Call F1 - Vibrator - CHECKED on/off duty, unchecked PTL
Wide - Monitor F1 - Tone
Wide - Priority Scan F1 - Tone

I have also removed the on/off duty and just set the 4 tones to all be normal but the 4th tone will not trip. The first three trip fine. I have also switched the 3rd and 4th tone but that also made no difference.

Anyone know why 2463.0 / 2163.4 would not trip in this programming?

I currently have this set in other pagers that don't have the first two sets and there are no issues.

Thanks in advance.

Could there be an issue with the order the tones are listed in? Would it make a difference if I moved them from top to bottom?

I don't believe the order of frequencies matters, but I suppose you could try it. I suspect the 2463 is too high for the M5 decoder to recognize...it's awful close to voice frequency, regardless if it let's you program it or not.

The "other pagers" which you have operating, are they also Minitor V pagers, or another type? Just because the M3 & M4 might do it is no guarantee the wonderful firmware-based M5 will do it unless Motorola is made aware of it, and fixes it in the next firmware up-date. Speaking of which, what are your firmware & RSS versions?

We have about 6 M5's that are set to 2464.0 / 707.1 and 928.1 / 2162.4 for all call and ems.
These get changed to 2463.0 / 707.3 and 927.4 / 2163.4 in the software and we have no issies with these.

If it matters I have five Minitor V's in the field with the latest firmware and software (released back on Dec 8th) decoding Plectron tones 2807.0 and 2575.o with NO problems. Maybe it isnt the tones?
The image is cracked but so is the view...

Well then, it seems either the unit in question is defective, or it is possibly in need of a firmware update to bring it up to snuff with the others.
