open up the connector and see if there is a rib inside of it.

Yes, the CP200 requires a rib.

Also, the CP200 is programmed by CPS, not RSS.

i think radio shack still has those adaptors or you can just get the regular 25 pin connector and replace your end.

You obviously aren't using a factory cable, so without physically seeing what you actually have for hardware, it's difficult to troubleshoot your problem.

The part number for the CP200 series CPS is RVN4191, the latest version is 5.04.

cable

Post by fireman54 »

I am using a motorola rib not a aftermarket and using the cable that does cp 200, p1225, and the gp300.

The software that I have is version 1.0 and the radio's are version 3.0 is that the reason?

Yes, you may be using a Motorola RIB, but you are NOT using a Motorola cable, as it is not the same cable for the CP200, P1225, and GP300...in fact it's 3 completely different cables.

Your software version is ancient. It may be the problem, or it may be your cable. Hard to know unless you try a known-good CP200 programming set-up.
