CPS for CDM1250

Post by roguemedic »

I have been asked by my fire chief to make a small tweak to our new CDM1250 just installed. Apparently the radio shop can not do simple installs per instructions. Anyway, I have CPS 6.04.00. What is the newest version CPS on the market and what happens if I try to program with the older CPS?

Chuck

P.S.
Unfortunately this is kind of a time sensitive situation, the chief is very ansy about getting this done. Thanks in advance.

Last I looked, the newest version was R06.05.03.

Plug in and read the radio with what you have. If it works, you're good. If you get a "codeplug too new" warning, you'll have to get Moto to send you an update disc or download the latest revision from MOL (since you are using your appropriately purchased and licensed CPS from Moto, entitling you to updates.)

Yea, will just bonk at you if it can't do it so you don't have to worry about bricking the radio. Just use what you have and see if it works. If it doesn't, you'll have to aquire the updated version.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

The last we got was 6.06.00, but the 6.04 may still work.
