Don't quote me but software prices don't go down till long after the radio is out of production. Also they are up to version 2.xx.xx for the MCS. They will only sell the current version.

I know most Motorola RSS is like $265

I think that is there standard price. And here is the funny part I was looking for the Comtegra Console RSS I call Gai-Tronics the maker they sell it for $65 but dont have it. I called Motorola boom $265.

It sounds like you are also looking for the CPS version not RSS the RSS version was more than 5 and the CPS is a low number.

RVN4175T SOFTWARE R02.00.01 MCS2000

or

RVN4177T RSS MTS AND MCS R02.00.01

Yes the latest version will read your radio and program it up to the latest version although not all options will be available unless you order a firmware reflash
