I trust my family's well being to Rand McNally and a dashclip. YMMV...

Precision Mapping
Most of the actual maps are pretty accurate, it just depends on the interface you go with.
I mostly use Garmin.

Precision mapping seems pretty good. But I have also used DeLorme for a long time.

I use DeLorme. It's only around $90-$100 and I've never had any big issues with it. Use it when storm chasing.
