Hi All,

First post on so here goes

I have a XPR4550 mobile which I suspect is a USA AA model & a copy of rvn5115 v3.0 build 80
on reading radio I get an error message "wrong region" !

Is there anywhere within the CPS to change the region ? I also notice that on the programming tree it states DM rather than XPR which is the UK version

Any Idea's :o

Regards
Al

I think the region information is programmed into the units at the factory, using software that is pretty much kept under 'lock and key'. There is nowhere in the CPS software to change the region info in a radio. I believe that doing so might allow radios that aren't type certified in a country to be illegally used in that country (the region information will have a bearing on the frequency range that the radio covers, at least in some cases).

Hi John,

First of all many thanks for the reply on this

I was more looking at the region in the CPS rather than the radio although I do have some good news on the TRBO brick

Managed to read the devil with tuner CPS results M27QPH9LA1AN so defo a U.S. radio so AA CPS required

So still on the hunt ......

Many Thanks
Al

Hi,

Not sure about region change of the CPS but you certainly can flash some of the radios to other regions although try read/writing a 45w mobile that you have flashed to EMEA max power on a EMEA radio is 25w :o
