DTR CPS reports firmware is too old

DTR CPS reports firmware is too old

All,

I just got a couple of first generation DTR410 radios from a dealer at a discount. I hoped to program them withe the Motorola DTR CPS, but both the 1.0 and 2.0 versions of the CPS available for download at the http://motorola.com/dtr say that the firmware in the radio is from an older version, and so it can't read the radio. Does anyone know if there is a way round this, either by using an earlier CPS or by upgrading the firmware? The Tanapa is RLN6026A and the date is Nov 12, 2005. Thanks!

First generation (built in antennas) DTR's are not compatible with CPS at all. They need to be second generation (screw on antennas) for CPS. However, you can program a 2nd generation DTR and then clone the information into a 1st generation unit with the cloning cable.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
