we just purchased a Xir 8200 mototrbo repeater and i think is not DMM capable. wanted to ask if DMM option is just a firmware upgrade or also includes some hardware upgrade. thanks.

Mixed mode? Not sure how they handle the foreign models but here in the states it requires the HKLN4456A upgrade package.

Yes, however it's an option you have to pay for, not like a regular TRBO firmware update.
