TRBO Digital available for purchase
I recently bought a VHF XPR6550 and upgraded it from 1.06.00 to 1.08.00 firmware and it is still showing that Digital is available for purchase. Am I missing something or was digital operation a paid option in earlier releases, I thought it was included in the cost of the radio. There again I'm very new at this TRBO stuff. The firmware installation process was a PITA to get installed on the PC, much less shot into the radio.
Any insight or part number for the digital upgrade is appreciated.
Thanks

Some radios were available as analog only, so you need to purchase an upgrade.

Ok. Is there any way to identify these radios either by model, tanapa, or serial numbers so I don't make this mistake again? Or is this something that will have to be read out of the radio to find out if it has digital enabled?
I guess I'll give /\/\ a call today and have a heart attack at how much it is to upgrade it. Thanks for the info.

They do have a different model # but I don't recall what it was.
Re: TRBO Digital available for purchase
I called Motorola and verified that the upgrade part number is: HKLN4429
I can't see it for some reason so I guess I'll have to get hold of my MSS to find out how much it is.
For the record my model number is: AAH55JDH9LC1AN
I have another UHF 6550 that the digital is included in and it's part number is AAH55QDH9LA1AN
So I'm assuming that the 11th character is the identifying mark either C or A.

Ok that's not as bad as I was thinking. I was figuring on at least $250 list.

That's a nice article. Wish I had known about that prior to this event. Thanks for posting it.
