I won't work in digital, just analog. When you key up from the rear accessory there is no way to specify a time slot or talk group ID. I had this issue interfacing an 8400 with a controller for an amateur repeater in mixed mode.fchrist16 wrote: It is in Mixed mode.

If you have MOL access, download the newest firmware upgrades, install the packages and select RECOVERY MODE. That will basically factory default the radios, wiping out the password.

What does pin 14 do? It is labeled "hook switch".
I've always made "crossover" cables with no logic between. Pins 2, 3, 7, 8 and 11. Program pin 8 for PL & CSQ/talkgroup detect and it's always worked.

Under RADIO CONFIGURATION look at the BASIC tab. Look for the Hook (HUB) defeats PL check box. Make sure it is unchecked.

I'm not sure what your asking. You don't need to set the rear connector to anything to program the radio from the rear connector. It works by default.

You need to delete the RAS key that comes by default in new radios. Open CPS and go to the VIEW menu up top and choose EXPERT. Under SECURITY you will see a RAS menu appear under the privacy options. Delete the default RAS key and program your radio. The RAS menu only appears if your in EXPERT mode....

You can program multiple zones (banks) into a radio with a hand-held control head. Make sure you allow access to zone changes via the menu or assign buttons for changing zones.

I've seen this. People tend to over tighten the connectors, causing those dimples. Try cleaning the contacts on the radio and the cable with a pencil eraser and do not over tighten the connector when programming.

I assume you're using it in analog? Digital output reads lower because it switches on and off rapidly and analog meters can't accurately keep up.
