I've noticed the same problem on my 3500 vs my 3000. I'm guessing my 3500 was parts built since i bought it secondhand. The battery contacts washer/o-ring seems to be beefier than the OEM 3000. The LiIons work fine on my 3000 but don't seem to contact well on the 3500 unless you squeeze the battery ...

What part # for this mic clip?
Can anyone tell me the Mot part # for the shoulder mic clip for the mics that FDNY uses? The one with the button riveted to the back of the spring clip? So they can clip it onto their radio straps. Is that something they have custom made or what?

oh sorry about that, i scaled down the original pic to save space, but i guess it sacrafised some clarity. The 1 key actually sez: 1 Q Z. I'll post up the original pics to review. If i recall, the Saber SVA had a handheld mic that could control the radio while it was in the base. Wouldn't this be si...

XTS3500 to be discontinued
Wow! I figured Big M would be milking it to the end but I guess maybe due to the bad publicity they won't. Either that or maybe there IS an inherant "Bug" with the 3500 series..... http://www.nynewsday.com/news/local/queens/nyc-nynist123667205feb12,0,7916176.story?coll=nyc-topheadlines-que...

Freq. steps
Hey, My local FD is using Ht1000's with a freq of 155.9325. My questions are the following: 1) What stepping is that? 2) Can the AS3 and above program that freq in? I tried putting that into a Saber I vhf and it could not step into the .xx25 range. 3) Any other bigM radios besides the Jedi series ca...

wow that was fast! I just came back cause I wanted to add another question I just thought of. Thanks for the quick reply. I heard that the XTS' require a SmartRIB to program them and the AS-3's only require a regular one?? It'd be a pain to have to get the smartrib. Soooo I guess the matter of choic...

Astro Saber vs. XTS ?
OKie I'm a newbie, I'll admit it. I've tried the search and plain jane scrolling through all the posts. But I've still haven't quite figured out the answer to my question: The major differences between an Astro Saber 3 vs a XTS 3000/3500. (FYI, i have found the post about the 3000 vs 3500). I'm in t...
