Re: Crossband between MTR2000s without external controller?
Would that be out of the box with just the wireline card or do I need a wildcard as well?

Re: Crossband between MTR2000s without external controller?
I'll have to verify if I can manipulate, I think COR is Active High and PTT is Active Low so I'd have to either find a way to change in CPS or build a small circuit to invert the signals. Hmm..

Crossband between MTR2000s without external controller?
I remember seeing a diagram in the Quantar service manual for having back to back repeaters to crossband without an external controller. Is there a similar provision to link two MTR2000s in the same rack without the addition of an external controller using just the wireline card? I have an applicati...

Re: XTL2500 simply won't passive scan
Make sure also you have CAI Data Registration turned off on your conventional systems. Otherwise it may try to send data out and appears to be trying to affiliate. I have that turned off. The radio does not behave like it is trying to affiliate, just simply passes no audio on a passive trunked mode...

Would rolling back the firmware be an option then? I'm running whatever the most current is.wavetar wrote:I don't know where the cut-off was, but I believe only very early firmware versions of the 'X' series worked with the hidden channel scanning trick, on Astro25 systems.

XTL2500 simply won't passive scan
Anyone else have issues getting an XTL2500 to passive scan? Scan works fine conventionally on the site (digital CSQ) in question but attempting to scan using the hidden talkgroup method is no dice. I've seen a couple posts on here that either confirmed or denied the XTL2500 could successfully scan w...

Another update - Placed radio in RF Test Mode and ran through the channels, with the hand mic, keys up perfectly with no audio distortions. Switched back in to the standard codeplug mode and still hearing the distortions. Reverted back to a codeplug from December and still has the big bold audio hum...

XPR4550 UHF remote "hum on transmit 1-1.5 seconds"
Dash mount radio worked great as a bench radio. Installed in vehicle, remoted with PMLN5404A kit and 5 meter cable. On analog wide band ham modes, awful hum/buzz on transmit for the first 1-1.5 seconds before it levels out to regular audio. Tried moving to a separate Astron power supply to bypass th...

You guys that are going will have to be the eyes and ears for those of us that can't go. Be sure to stop by Motorola and look at the new APX8000 V-U-7-800. Since it's the same size as a 6000 you would have to believe that it only has one RF board, not two like the 7000. That pretty much has to mean...

Re: Will a 403-470 split MCS2000 go out of band to 395 MHz?
I would wager that it probably will. I've been able to get 450-520MHz MCS 2000's down to 438MHz in the past, and 403-470MHz MCS 2000's up to 480MHz. It will require a hex edit of the CPS to allow it to happen, but it should be able to do it. Firmware doesn't really have anything to do with it beyon...

Will a 403-470 split MCS2000 go out of band to 395 MHz?
I searched throughout the site and a couple others but wasn't able to find an answer as far as going out of band lower than the split, everyone seemed to want to go higher than the split. I have a 403-470 MCS2000 that I'd like to program a handful of interop channels in the 395 MHz range. Is this to...

Looking at going the MotoTRBO route for a utility here covering about 4500 square miles from two mountain tops (RF plots look good) using VHF.
