Re: Remote Paging
Yes, money is an issue tuckerm - not something I have much control over. I came across a system last night. A mobile phone had a 3.5 mm jack going to a VOX handheld (on repeater channel) The phones ringtone was set as the pager tones to replay three times, then the phone had an app that automaticall...

Re: Remote Paging
Thanks Guys, I appreciate all of your input. I am getting the repeater moved to a better location which will cover all of our coverage area. However, I am still left with the activation issue. What I could do if get a handheld radio and put it in the first responder bag and get them to activate the ...

Re: Remote Paging
This could work half the time but another issue we have is that the response area is in the middle of a valley with a slight mountain between where most of us work and the actual response area.
Teamspeak or Skype from a smartphone would even work fine if we could have the audio file play first.

Re: PR3000 Radius (Keynote?) Pager PL or CS
Hey,
I have loads of Keynotes or Radius as they're often labelled, I know that, from the programming software, they can't take a CS or PL.

Re: Remote Paging
Hey Bill, the pagers are crystal type.
We have them working here and they work great but only if I am next to the computer.
I want them to sound off by me activating them somehow 5 or 10 miles away.

Re: Remote Paging
Hey Bill, Should have mentioned, we have a licenced transmitter and repeater for ourselves. Plan was to connect one of the handhelds with VOX to a dedicated computer which would carry out the dispatching function. We want this to be a remote system so that nobody is tied down to a specific area. We ...

PDW Now Supports SSL
I got the software edited. Just received the update in the last 20 minutes.
It works! PDW now supports SSL.
So all filtered messages can be e-mailed to you. Great for SAR groups/firefighters/EMS etc.
Keep an eye on discriminator.nl for the update over the next few days.

POCSAG data loss in repeater?
Hi All, I'm setting up a POCSAG paging system in my town shortly...mainly for hobby. Most POCSAG transmitters than you can pick up are below 2W, anything around the 25W mark cost above $1,800. I'm wondering, would there be too much data loss if I was to try and setup the system running through 2 GM3...

Re: Motorola Keynote Pager Programming Problem
Ok, I managed to sort the issue of "Config Error" - my own fault as I was running the program directly from the CD - when I moved the file to my C Drive, I was able to change the settings. Now, when I ask the pager to read my pagers I am getting new errors. I have about 95 Keynotes - mixtu...

Re: Choosing a radio for POCSAG (or, 'Will a Maxtrac do this
I know this is an old post but here goes:
I'm looking at doing something very similar shortly with a GM350 (4CH).
What's the best way to connect sound coming from the speaker out jack (3.5mm) of a PC to the accessory port of a GM350.
Thanks.

Re: Motorola Keynote Pager Programming Problem
Thanks Guys, GoBlue - I have those dialogues without the A:\ part. When I try and modify the options such as enter C:\ or C:\Keynote\ (which I created) I get a message saying "Config Error". I thought it may be the computer but I'm getting the same on a laptop with serial port. I checked t...

Re: Motorola Keynote Pager Programming Problem
Tried two computers running XP but had no luck. It wont let me access configuration settings. When I try to set to COM port it asks me first to select an archive path and I try C:\Keynote but it tells me there are copyright violations. The computer runs XP and not true DOS. Could this be the problem...

Re: Motorola Keynote Pager Programming Problem
Hey,
Yes, I'm using a 9 pin serial port that has never had any issues before programming GM350's and SM50's.
I have an issue accessing Device Manager at the moment so must get that looked at. I am using XP, not true DOS.

Re: Minitor II - Alignment after re-crystal
I have a few Keynote pagers on 155.820 that need to be changed. What is the maximum movement away from that frequency that I can have before needing to re-align it?
Thanks
Thanks
