Re: Things overheard from Motorola Support....

Look, it's real simple - just like when CB went from 23 channels to 40 channels.

Lots of folks were told that they had to have a second antenna on the vehicle and attached to the CB so they could use the newer, higher frequencies....

Sort of like that. 8)

Sorry - just so busy I haven't gotten out that way in a long time. You need to see what the vendors come up with to be able to be used on the Moto system you guys are putting in at the state level. Not sure where I read it, but I do recall reading the Feds had to give permission to any non-Fed in order for them to be able to buy one Strange you should think that. How much trouble would it be to swap out the drawer unit and control head from the leaving unit to the incoming one? Take less time and energy than reprogramming, etc. I don't have any O5 heads in my fleet, but I understand that they are "serialized" to the drawer unit. Maybe someone could...

spectra 9000

I don't think there is a Spectra 9000. Isn't it the accessories, ie siren/PA, control head, etc., labeled "9000". Never saw a Spectra with 9000 in the name/label/documents.

No Syntor XX either.

Pretty sure I know I have one. Do you have a service monitor or some method for injecting an on-frequency signal at varying levels? You can tune with a VTVM, but need an on-frequency signal to do so.

Of course, you also would want some way to send the 'tones' too.
