Look, it's real simple - just like when CB went from 23 channels to 40 channels.
Lots of folks were told that they had to have a second antenna on the vehicle and attached to the CB so they could use the newer, higher frequencies....
Sort of like that.
Just sayin'......

Re: Liberty / Unity / APX - Are there any grants for this stuff?
Sorry - just so busy I haven't gotten out that way in a long time. You need to see what the vendors come up with to be able to be used on the Moto system you guys are putting in at the state level. We haven't had any to test over here, but maybe that will change in the not-to-distant future. We just...

Re: Liberty / Unity / APX - Are there any grants for this stuff?
Not sure where I read it, but I do recall reading the Feds had to give permission to any non-Fed in order for them to be able to buy one Strange you should think that. Thales is coming to meet with me (again), and I'm no Fed. They met with me and other Public Safety groups when they were coming up ...

Re: Managing users on Smartzone System
How much trouble would it be to swap out the drawer unit and control head from the leaving unit to the incoming one? Take less time and energy than reprogramming, etc. I don't have any O5 heads in my fleet, but I understand that they are "serialized" to the drawer unit. Maybe someone could...

spectra 9000
I don't think there is a Spectra 9000. Isn't it the accessories, ie siren/PA, control head, etc., labeled "9000". Never saw a Spectra with 9000 in the name/label/documents.
No Syntor XX either.

Could be on some, Will, but I know that two different era mics wouldn't work in the Spectra mic case, or versa vice... Don't remember now exactly which ones, but I do know I was trying to use a Motorola-produced red mic to use the Spectra 1051 mic guts, and they wouldn't fit. So I guess your milage ...

I'm a simple kinda guy, so I'll give it to you like it was 'splained to me... When I turn on my XTS3K on the state trunking system, I see it transmit after it comes up and out of the self-check. $680+ from Motorola, and I've never seen them come up on eBay...and I've looked HARD. And they are not upgradable. The HEX edit to make it a 'gov't' model is great. You don't have to keep that damn key thingy around, especially when using the speaker/mic. While you are into the RSS, you might want to consider changing the password to something other than the default. I did that on mine, so someone at a fire or i...

On the regular non-Astro Spectra we've used a regular cable/head set-up on the second DB-25 (under the handle) with no problems. If I remember right, the volume control/mode rockers affect both heads equally. These were A5/7 heads. If you use the A9s, I would guess you would have to put the heads on...
