The plastic Secure/Non-Secure toggle on my Saber II broke into pieces on me. I need just the plastic piece. I am still able to use it by grabbing the metal piece that is left. An even bigger implication....Vertex has been the main competition for Moto in public safety. NYPD has pretty much abandoned M in favor of Vertex in the past couple of years. So, is Moto saying if we can't get the contract...we'll buy the company that did? Wow.

Is it possible to print a codeplug from DOS RSS (ie; Saber, etc.) with a printer that is connected via USB cable? I know the DOS software will be looking for a parallel connected printer. It is just a convenience issue for me, not critical, but was wondering if anyone found a way to do it.

Why do you even need to do that when you can just use the "Restart in MS-DOS mode" option available in Win98 as stated above?

So.....On a S2, which of course has a display, you cannot use the red LED on top of the radio as a battery low indicator even though the option is in the RSS after reading an S2?

Don't see it Tom...It's not listed in the options that I see. Are you talking about alignment. Saw something there, it's set to 9E. The LCD display battery indicator flashes at a good point...that same threshold would be fine for me for the red LED.

I have been trying to activate Option H906--Low Battery LED on my Saber 2. I've never been able to get it to work. What if you just deny access to WGA using ZoneAlarm or any software firewall?

Have you tried what GlennD said above? Set the radio to the zone you want it to start up in and make sure you hit ENTER. Then it should always start up in that zone.

Can the rocker switch on a Saber II be utilized in any way to enable simplex operation on a repeater channel the way it can on a Saber 1E?

I see most ASIII's are advertised as being capable of 255 conventional channels (modes). How can these be divided among zones. 16 modes X 16 zones = 256 not 255...Obviously I'm missing something.

Pro-97....It has just about everything the Pro-96 has except the digital decoding. It's a fairly new model. Goes for 200 bucks. 150 when on sale.

On a related note, which piece actually carries the codeplug on a trunk mount? Can you, for example, switch out control heads and have no loss of programming?
