M1225 work in a GR500?
I just pulled a GR500 in the office from active service, assuming it had narrowband friendly radios inside it.. Well, I was wrong, the radios in side are not 12.5 able GM300 radios, which shocked me because we purchased the repeater in 2003. I suppose it was built up from existing stock of GM300 rad...

Compatability on new system
We're in the process of changing to an Astro P25 conventional system with XTL and XTS series radios. (again a conventional system with the digital P25 mode) I'm a little unclear on compatability with non motorola or non motorola Astro series hardware. Is it going to be possible to purchase and utili...

Re: Problem programming XTL2500 via USB
Tried it with a third laptop, worked perfectly. The first two were both HPs (different models though, but close) and that was apparently the issue, for whatever reason. They both had different versions of Windows, and one was a clean format of Win. I did try different USB ports on the first two lapt...

Re: Problem programming XTL2500 via USB
The radios are brand new, months old. The cable and CPS is brand new, less than a week. The cable appears to be in good shape and didn't arrive damaged, and sending a query to the "modem" via device manager returns responces so I'm pretty sure the cable is ok. I got it to read one time tod...

Problem programming XTL2500 via USB
I am getting an open radio failed error trying to read the XTL2500 with CPS 14 and a brand new Motorola OEM ribless USB to radio control head mic connector cable. The cable I'm trying to use is the HKN6184A, and the radio is an M21KSM9PW1AN. I am selecting USB in the CPS, and the radio is detected a...

Re: CPS with Windows 7 - any problems?
I just got my AstroCPS 14 today, and the OEM usb cable from Motorola. Win7 32 bit. I did get a detection and install of the modem driver for the USB when I powered the radio. I found to get the "USB" as an option in the read menu (rather than just com ports) I had to be running as an admin...

Re: GM300 low volume problem
A simple disconnect the head, reconnect the head did the trick. I am shocked, it was firmly connected and looked to be in good condition. Anyway, working great now!
Thanks!
Thanks!

GM300 low volume problem
I moved a GM300, and after setting it back online the audio volume is very very low. If I turn the volume to maximum, it is just below the "acceptable" level to hear the beep and any audio. I checked the rear 16-pin connector and it is unchanged. (litterally, I powered off the radio, moved...

Re: smartsiren SS2000 airhorn failing?
ALL of our patrol cars do this, (all have the SS2000 in conj with Orion radios) Pretty much the first time an air horn tone is used per "session" or so. I think it is normal, or at least I've gotten used to it.

QCII Decode simplex?
Our department's radio is having trouble alerting, and I feel it is due to interference from hearing the repeater which is now several miles away. (moved recently) The dispatch center is probably 100 yards from the fire station, and I thought we could just monitor the dispatch TX (repeater input) fo...

P1225 Refurbish kit?
I've seen refurb kits on ebay, etc for many radios, but does such a kit exist for the P1225 (with dtmf and lcd)? If not, could someone please let me know where i might find the part number for the main front portion of the radio? I've got one with some pretty bad scratches on the lcd and a couple of...

Siren Speaker in 1998 Blazer LS ?
Anyone put a siren speaker in a 1998 Blazer? If so, what type did you use and where did you put it. Seems that no pre-made behind-the-grill mount exists, and one website I was reading on said that no behind-the-grill could fit.
Any solutions?

open without damage?
Thanks for all your replies so far-
Can you tell me just how in the world to get this radio out of the case without damaging it? I have tried using a flat head to pry it out but I don't want to crack the housing.
Thanks again for the posts

P110 Radius volume control failures
I have two department radios with problems with the volume control. It goes from none to max and skips in between but won't stay at any constant level other than minimum and maximum. They are both P110 and the local radio shop says they can't be fixed. I was thinking this must be a common problem si...

M1225 front panel option buttons
Can the front panel option buttons (A, B, C) on a M1225 be made to perform a task via the rear connector port, such as acting as a toggle switch for lights? Just wondering, don't fully understand the capability of the features of these radios yet.

M1225 programming question
Does the Radius M1225 require use of it's own software package, or should it be programmable by the software which programs the GM300, M120, M130, and so on. I've noted they connect with the same rib cable.
