Don't remember any setting in software that would lower audio. Common problem with low audio in Advisor IIs. If it's out of warranty you can replace it with a part from Digi-Key, 102-1460.

Pager came in for repair and display shows "CODING" even when off. I can read/write and even dumped a default program in from a new unit. Haven't run into this before and just wondering if anybody knows a fix. Pager out of warranty.

If they are DC remotes the polarity is important on the old stuff too. Try reversing the phone lines.

I've replaced quite a few and haven't had any recalls. You can always add a drop of glue if you want. Changing the knob assembly is much harder than replacing the rubber cap. I'd go with a new front housing if the plastic is broken. Part number 1562939B01 - list $17 or a refurb kit which is the enti...

I've had pretty good luck removing stripped allen screws by using a torx driver. Find a torx that you can get to fit and apply a little pressure while turning. If you just need to replace the rubber, align the knob and while pushing down, tuck the sides of the knob into the surrounding plastic ring ...

Joe, Some common causes of garbled displays are poor receive - check the antenna for cold/broken solder at the connecting point on the RF board and the smd caps next to the connection. Also check the lcd driver (U004) located on the decoder for broken solder connections usually at pin 14 or pin 1 (t...
