Yes, the "two way"switch is also known as the concentric switch which is under the channel selector knob as mentioned by N4KVE above. I haven't had the MTSX RSS software opened in a few months, but if I recall correctly, the PL/DPL tone boxes are just to the righthand side of the frequency...

I don't think Motorola ever released a PDF version of the MT2000 users manual, at least I've never been able to locate one. The paper/hardcopy users manual is still available from MOL, or a Motorola dealer, and lists for $22.31 plus any tax or postage that may apply.

Are you sure you didn't inadvertantly select "RX Only" for those two channels you tried to re-program? If you do that you can only program a receive freq and the "TX Freq" field will be greyed out in the RSS, thus you're unable to write a TX frequency for that channel. The radio ...

I'm surprised about it having type 95 certification, but it really does. I guess it's because back in the day, when the MSF5000 was contemporay, GMRS was a completely different animal than it is today. Anyway, it's good to know.

R06.00.00 is pretty old. Your MTS2000 VHF has probably been programmed with much newer software than that since it's got V6.8 firmware.

Only options are to have it programmed at a Motorola dealer or buy new s/w version.

If memory serves me correctly the NTN1171A is strictly for NiCd batteries.

Internal floppy drives are cheap and are not difficult at all to replace. Why not consider replacing the floppy drive in the laptop with a new/used one? It shouldn't cost you more than around $20.00 if you DIY.

It probably has nothing to do with your computer unless network settings have been messed with or your network adapter (NIC) is dying. It's probably not your modem. That Toshiba PCX2500 has a history of being fairly reliable and trouble free. It was a standard issue from Cox HSI to their subscribers...
