Texting help on the XPR7550E

Post by CircleBat »

Does anyone knows how to hookup a XPR Base station to a computer so the dispatch can text information from a computer to a XPR7550E and vice versa? Also can an inhouse software be used to text that information to the XPR7550? Getting really confused on the texting and wondered if I needed third party software to do this?

Greatly Appreciated

What radios do you own?: XPR5550, XPR7550e

So you want to use a control station, like an XPR5550? or to a portable (XPR7550)? Plug either into the USB port and send a text message to subscribers in the field?

In either case, you'll need third party software. I've used NeoTerra and MNIS to accomplish it.

You're getting into some big $$$. NeoTerra used to make ZapMail as a texting server that could run on a stand alone PC but that's discontinued. Now they have a newer, browser based one. http://www.neoterra.ca is their site.

Also check http://www.dapage.net. I've chatted with Jeff from that company online but never used his products.

@Circlebat

So our product does this and much more across the TRBO Product line. From simple control station and a few Portables, to Capacity Max and Connect Plus delivering about 1M transactions a month across our customer base.

It is Software as Service, and has been around for many years. If you are interested let me know; info at dapage dot net --

If you are just looking for a small appliance, and are comfortable with all the ins and outs of getting data to the Gateway, my competition (not Really it's a different space) has the SMC product. http://www.smc-gateway.com/en/compatibi ... -dmr-radio
