SPECTRA SECURENET HELP

Post by K8COP »

Can the Spectra Securnet board #HLN 6345A (800 Mhz) be converted to use as a HLN 6000B (vhf/uhf)? I bought several as a group on e-bay, not knowing they were for 800 Mhz. (stupid!!!).

Also, I got a HLN 6202A. What type of Spectra unit does this work with?

won't work

800mhz is a FRED (four-level encryption) and it has speciall IC's on the board to support that....

OK.... Any luck on trading them for some on the correct band, or just putting them back on e-bay???

A long time ago I bought a VHF spectra that was running securenet and it had the 800 MHZ board in it. It worked fine for me.

OK, I'm confused too. I thought securenet was securenet.... regardless of band. Wouldn't the 4 level refer to Astro not encryption?

Some one correct me but I thought fled boards were used in 800 multi-site simulcast systems. I really don't know what difference that would make on a single transmit/receive system.
