While in Richmond this weekend I got a great deal on a new in the box Avenger 900 mhz handie. Nice small size, looks like a ham rig! I been able to find out that it does 10 conventional channels from the operators manual and that's about all the specs the manual covers! Anyone know if this thing will RX/TX in the ham portion of 900 Mhz??

Well, I don't have the actually software for the Avenger SI yet but I do have some for their other ltr units. They seem to use an FCC channel assignment number for programming channel info, does anyone know if there is a channel numbering scheme for frequencys within the 902-927 mhz spectrum???

Thanks, this is actually more like what I had in mind, this is a look at the numbering scheme from the FCC for 800/900 commercial and I wonder if they did the same for the frequencys in the ham portion?

Frank, I know for sure that some of the EFJ stuff will work on the 900 hamband - this particular model I don't know for sure.
If you have not already done so, check out the Yahoo group "AR902Mhz" as that is where you can find someone who does know.
Best to check the archives before you ask for the info - some folks are kinda touchy there about asking about something that has been covered in depth already
