Spectra II's and Spectra E's .... whats the difference?

I was reading the readme files, and these two radios were mentioned. What are the differences between them, and how can one tell what is what by the tags, or physical looks?

The II probably refers to the B and C models. The E model is 'programmable' and was initially what was used for SmartZone a long time ago. E models are supposed to be flash upgradeable. The E models are hard to find.
