MT2000 and MDC1200

Post by hsfdchief200 »

I'm looking at a used MT2000 to purchase. The model number is H01KDH9AA7AN. Is it capable of the MDC1200 signalling?

Is this a good radio?

Yes and Yes

They are capable of MDC, and are very good radios.

One more question concerning this radio:

Does it do MDC1200 decode, or just encode?

I recall seeing some version of the MTS2000 that did both, and some did not.

Is the MT2000 the same?

If it doesn't decode, is an upgrade available to allow it to do so?

No and No. Consider the HT1250, if you don't like the price of the MTS2000.

With decode, do you mean: can I see the ID on the display? --->No, only MTS2000 properly flashes will.

IIRC, it might still decode MDC1200 callalerts, select calls and radiocheck. So if that is your question of decode, then yes (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Depends on the controller in the radio. I have a 2.02 MT2000 radio and the options are there for call alert, but they do not work.
