Centracom II Gold Elite CRT - Missing resources

Post by Wile E. Coyote »

Okay, I have a problem that is a little above me, and I was hoping another Batlabber has seen this. On our Centracom II Gold Elite CRT console (running XP), we recently had a computer go belly up on us. We ordered another HP computer with nearly the same specs, and it works great except for one thing.

When I open Elite Dispatch, the Multiselect/Patch Group Area is missing! It’s just a blank gray field. I use the same profile for all of the other consoles and they work fine.

I tried removing the software, defragging the hard drive, and re-installing it. No use, I still can not get the Multiselect/Patch Group Area to show up.

Any thoughts?

Was this a Motorola certified replacement CPU?

We have had issues when trying to use some computer compontents that were "after market".

If you mean "Purchased by Motorola", then no. But it is the exact same model & specs as an existing CPU that was purchased by Motorola, with the exception of extra memory.

How many op positions do you have? Where are you running elite admin from? Are you running the same config on all the ops?

Have you reset/reseated the COIM card associated with this position?

Also, when you removed the software, did you go in and delete the Centracom folder prior to re-install. Had an issue once where this was the problem. In my case I moved an op position between CEB's. It kept wanting to download the wrong CEB profile.

Hmm... I can't say that I tried that. It's worth a shot! I will give it a go and let you know what happens.

[Update]
I tried re-seating the COIM & a clean install with no luck. After a lot of digging, I found that the capability of patching was disabled when the PC died 8 months ago. Since then one of the other guys updated the programming in the CIE and enabled that feature. For some reason the COIM had not gotten the upgrade it needed. I muppled the card and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for all the input!
