Shakespeare Lo-Max

Post by chpalmer »

Anyone know what Shakespeare Lo-Max coax corresponds to?

Its outer diameter is 5/16" like rg6 but the center conductor is 1/8" stranded. Its 50 ohm cable.

I want to build some test cables from it...

Looks like it's proprietary... RG8X size, smaller center for less rigidity. Bleh. Certainly nothing worthy of building test cables from, which should be RG-142/400/316/etc.

Its actually quite a bit bigger than 8x. And very pliable. I wanted to run some tests on it and see how well it lasts with constant use...

Thanks

RG8X is .240 diameter.
Seems the Shakespeare Lo-Max coax is .312 diameter.
