minitor II false alterting

Post by kd5wfy »

I just got a minitor II re crystallized and filter put in it and every once in a while it will beep twice and then the audio will open up. Does any one have any ideas on what might be causing this?

Are you wearing it next to a cell phone? The transmitted data packets when a cell phone checks in with the cell site can cause it to do that.

The control circuit in the Minitor II seems to be sensitive to RF. Along with cellphones, it is not uncommon for them to open up because of a nearby portable transmitting.

Another possible cause could be an intermittent power connection or battery contact.
