Hi all, I need some help in programming a Motorola Advisor Pager.
Here's the info I have:
At the back of the pager
--------------------------------
A03KLC5662AA
AD5BVG45MW
822/999
I already have the software but I'm not sure how to program them.
if you need more info let me know!
thx,

Re: Motorola Advisor Programming
I was able to read the pager but when it's asking for Code A, I can only input 6 digits but the CAPCODE I have has 7 digits!

Re: Motorola Advisor Programming
Your Advisor pager is probably for GOLAY paging (which uses 6-digit capcodes) but your 7-digit capcode is probably on a POCSAG or FLEX paging system (a different format), which means the pager won't work for you.
Analog already is interoperable.
Re: Motorola Advisor Programming
I've never seen a GOLAY-only Advisor. On the first page when you read the pager, you should see a line toward the top of the screen about format. You should be able to select it and toggle from GOLAY/GSC to POCSAG 512, 1200, or 2400 (2400 not supported on all pagers). You'll have to know what baud rate to use.
This also assumes the pager is on the right frequency, and the cap isn't FLEX.

Re: Motorola Advisor Programming
There are definitely GOLAY only Advisor pagers. Old, but they exist.
I don't have my model chart with me to tell him exactly what this is.
It sounds like a pager from an old hospital system, hence the 2 caps.
If the micro is a BGA, and DOESN'T say 29V70 on it, it's golay.
POCSAG micro's have a 29V70 printed on them, and we used to convert Golay to Pocsag by swapping them.
Advisors I've seen:
Golay = BGA
512/1200 only = BGA
512/1200/2400 = Current non-BGA

here's more info:
when I read the pager, coding format says GSC and I cannot modify it.
my capcode is: 0001296
here's a screen shot of the program:

Re: Motorola Advisor Programming
If you can't get to it to change it, it is most likely a GSC/GOLAY-only pager. You'll have to find a different unit that supports whatever protocol you need.
Re: Motorola Advisor Programming
I've check again and it's supposed to be GOLAY!!!
I will check again the CAPCODE to make sure it's the right one!
