Hello All!
I have some Minitor III pagers and they work great with the exception of one problem.
What they are doing is they are a constant squelch after dispatch talks.
In other words when they are in monitor mode they work fine till voice traffic comes across, then after the voice traffic is through the pager starts squeching till the reset button is pushed and then all is good till the next voice traffic is through then it starts all over again.
Is there anything in the programming that can cue this pain in the a** problem.
Like I said the pagers recieve calls and alert great, it is just the persistant squelching problem.
Please pm me with ideas and suggestions.
I hate to have the pain of replacing the pagers, if there is a simple fix.
Thanks
David

Re: Minitor III Problems
Sounds like they are set for "manual reset" after alerting. You can program them to auto reset, either with a timer, or after carrier dropout.

Re: Minitor III Problems
Thats not a function of being alerted or reset. This sounds like the regular squelch is just too low.

So, The min 3 & 4's have a squelch setting on top of the pl and alert tones?
Re: Minitor III Problems
No Minitor has PL/DPL capability. It is plain old carrier squelch. It is adjustable by software, either in normal programming or some service mode. I don't don't remember.

Minitor 3, 4, 5 have multiple suelch/reset settings. You can set them to delay depending on your application. If the pagers are used with a drop in carrier after the alert, then rekeys for voice, auto reset won't work. reset with delay will especially with stored voice so you don't loose the stored message.

Re: Minitor III Problems
Once again, this has nothing to do with alert/reset. This a simple matter of the carrier squelch being set toooooooo tight and not closing.
