SUBJECT: XPR8300 or MTR2000/3000 – MOTOTRBO repeaters may experience call failures with units
that are using R01.07.00 or R01.07.01 firmware in an IP Site Connect System
MODEL / SYSTEM AFFECTED:
MOTOTRBO Repeaters / Base Stations (XPR8300, MTR3000, and MTR2000 with T2003A upgrade kits installed)
used in an IP Site Connect System with R01.07.00 or R01.07.01 firmware
SYMPTOM:
When an IP Site Connect System is configured for Slot 1 – Local, Slot 2 – Wide, the following calls will fail when
initiated on Slot 2 (Wide mode)
Call Alert
Confirmed Private Call
Emergency Alarm
Remote Monitor
The failure will demonstrate as follows:
Recipient will receive the call.
Initiator will not receive acknowledgement from the recipient so will think the call has failed.
CAUSE:
Software defect introduced in R01.07.00 firmware release is causing the acknowledgement from the recipient to
be lost by the base station.
RESOLUTION:
No solution for this problem currently exists. Motorola engineering team is diligently working to provide a
solution. If at all possible, please avoid upgrading your base stations to R1.7 system software release (if
using the above IP Site Connect configuration).
WORKAROUND:
For any units update to or shipped from the factory with R01.07.00 or R01.07.01 firmware:
1. If new system installation and set up – program to ensure slot 1 is set to wide and slot 2 is set to
local and issue will not be observed
2. Existing system equipment – at this time no workaround exist at this time. If reported by a
customer, please contact your regional technical support team to have a technical case opened.
