TRBO with Magstripe Credit Card Reader/Processing

Post by WUSA »

I've got an application for a cab company and would like to offer magstripe readers with a credit card processing service.

Hoping someone may know of a company/ISV that is working with TRBO or similiar???

Thanks.

Warning: The VISA/MasterCard merchant agreement requires a minimum of 128-bit encryption using AES or DES. The 40-bit RC4 encryption offered on Trbo isn't up to snuff. Heaven forbid something goes wrong, the processors might attempt to hold you (and everyone else under the sun) responsible for their losses. Whether they would be successful or not...

What radios do you own?: Over 50 - All Motorola

You can encrypt the data stream to/from the reader and THEN put on the radio backbone....

This is no different than using the Internet with your credit card machine. Check with the bank/issuer of the device.

I would suggest you get *very* familiar with the PCI DSS before you even consider this... unless you have lots of money, you do NOT want to be handling your own payment card info.
