XTS2500 Q883/Q574 and P25 conventional

Post by overhere »

All - I just got hold of an XTS2500 800MHz which I was hoping to use for P25 conventional. The flashcode (actual in the CPS) is 100018-000488-9 which Akardam.net decodes to:

D12 B1 Q806 Q806 ASTRO IMBE Digital Operation
D8 B1 Q883 Q883 3600/9600 Interoperability/Mixed Mode Signalling
D7 B4 H38 H38 SmartZone Systems Operation
D3 B3 Q173 Q173 SmartZone Omnilink MultiZone Operation
D2 B4 Q361 Q361 ASTRO 25 9600 Baud Trunking
D1 B4 Q574 Q574 9600 Baud Trunking

But the CPS lists the feature set only as the following "smartzone package"

D8 B1 Q883 Q883 3600/9600 Interoperability/Mixed Mode Signalling
D1 B4 Q574 Q574 9600 Baud Trunking

And it doesn't seem to want to allow a conventional personality with astro rx/tx. Is there any way of getting this radio to do conventional P25 or will it need reflashing? Not sure why akardam and the CPS give different results. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

q806 should let you do conventional p25 i dont know much about rebanding but it could be some thing to do with that
if you lokk around on the internet there is a tool which allows you to change flashcodes but it is dangerous if use incorrectly

Thanks for the reply! I just figured it out - it wouldn't let me set the ASTRO tx only because I tried to do that before setting ASTRO rx - it now works fine. I'd jumped to the conclusion it was to do with the flashcode.
